What to Expect at Lessons

Here are a few things that help lessons run smoothly and support student progress:

  • Come Prepared
Students should bring all their materials: books, binder, and any homework.

  • Be On Time
Lessons begin and end on schedule. If you’re running late, just send a quick message.

  • Practice Between Lessons
A little practice goes a long way! Aim for 4–5 days a week, even if it’s just 10–15 minutes.

  • Ask Questions
Students and parents are always welcome to ask questions during or after lessons. I want everyone to feel confident and supported.

  • Stay Involved
Parents are encouraged to check in regularly — I’ll occasionally send short notes or videos to help with practice at home.

Policy Highlights

Here are a few important things to know. A full policy document is shared after registration and available anytime by request.

  • 💳 Payment
Tuition is due on the 1st of each month (September–June). Invoices are sent automatically a few days in advance.

  • 📚 Books
Book charges are billed separately and due within 14 days of receipt.

  • ❌ Missed Lessons
No make-up lessons are offered for missed or cancelled lessons. Your lesson time is reserved just for you.

  • 🕒 Late Arrivals
Lessons end at the scheduled time. If a student is more than 10 minutes late, the lesson may be cancelled.

  • 📅 Withdrawals
If you need to discontinue lessons mid-year, one month’s notice is required. A cancellation fee equal to one month’s tuition will apply.

  • 📸 Photo & Video
I occasionally share photos or short videos on social media. You’ll receive a release form at registration, and participation is optional.

🌟 Studio Expectations

Building great musicianship is a team effort between teacher, student, and parents!

🎹 For Students

  • Practice Consistently: Aim to practice at least 4 days each week.

  • Track Your Progress: Fill out your practice sheet daily at the piano with your own check marks or ticks.

  • Earn Piano Bucks: Bucks are awarded based on consistent daily effort—please don't double up practice on one day to mark off another!

  • Arrive Ready: Come to lessons with clean hands, trimmed nails, and all of your music books.

👨‍👩‍👧 For Parents

  • Support Practice Routines: Help create a positive, reliable practice environment and routine at home.

  • Weekly Sign-Off: Sign your child’s practice sheet at the end of each week right before their lesson.

  • Stay Informed: Review the complete list of studio policies and expectations anytime at reggievpiano.com/policy.
